this is how RACE Works, Mr. Diggs

Dear Taye, (may I call you TAYE?)

Race is a social construct.

It has political and historical context and real world, political and legal  implications.

Race is determined by how society and its members perceive you.

These arbitrary and completely subjective perceptions determine how people interact with you.

You control how you respond to these interactions.WIN_20150127_172443

in light of your ‘announcement’ it appears that on your planet, people can choose how they are perceived and treated.

(this has been tried before, see Respectability Politics)

I am going to test this theory today.. I am announcing that my family is now white.

I would like my privilege delivered immediately. I don’t need the fragility, as I grew up Black, and well, don’t need that shit. IMG_7838

FORGIVENESS AND RACE

forgiveness is a tricky thing.

I see the stereotype of the loving oppressed Black person  as a person co opted by racism and white supremacy.

in the political theater of history it has been the duty of the oppressed to forgive the oppressor, to avoid greater oppression, or to earn the privilege of less oppression without fear of retaliation.

Yes, on a metaphysical level, forgiveness frees me from the hate and anger and hurt of the wrong done to me,

but in history and literature the forgiveness of the wronged Black is given to the oppressive white without atonement or supplication.

and in this type of situation it supports the notion of most white americans that Black people really dont feel pain, hurt etc.

On 9/11 America vowed NEVER AGAIN.

Richard Gere was booed for suggesting we work toward forgiveness.

The forgiveness of the oppressed is a necessary part of the oppressors daydream, suggesting that it will never become a nightmare.

The oppressor fears, perhaps knows, that he cant withstand a portion of what the oppressed have endured and that twice of what the oppressed have endured are due as his punishment.

It is as much the fear of retaliation as it is of a level playing field.

Black in america – the struggle continues.

white privilege allows

fragile white people to ignore that

white supremacy denies the

humanity and citizenship of

Black People and kills us.

it allows white people to ignore

structural and systemic racism and its generational effects.

it is the ignorant and arrogant energy behind “all lives matter”

behind justifying death for a toy gun or knowing your rights.

behind  the humanity and humane treatment of white male mass murderers, domestic terrorists.

to treat Black children like adults.

to consume their own souls denying Black Humanity.

to destroy themselves attempting to destroy Black Livesblack power salute

protect fragile white tears -NOT!!!

what Price Racism?

when the police wrongfully kill an unarmed Black citizen and there is a civil lawsuit.
the money comes from the taxpayers. the city of Chicago paid out over 50 million in the last fiscal year. what is the CPS budget shortfall?

when peace loving protesters march engage in civil disobedience. the cost are born my them and the rest of the taxpayers. overtime, extra shifts,
HOW LONG WILL YOU LET RACISM, WHITE SUPREMACY AND FRAGILE WHITE PRIVILEGE TAX THE CITIZENS?

AND DON’T ASK PEOPLE NOT TO PROTEST INJUSTICE dont be lazy and stupid and shortsighted with a irrational kneejerk response..

DEMAND JUSTICE
DEMAND ANSWERS
DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY
DEMAND RACIAL EQUALITY

I have always wondered why a country that prides itself on EXCEPTIONAL-ISM wouldn’t pour a lot more money time and energy into education across race, gender, class lines.

what is the cost of racial inequality and social injustice?

On Respectability Politics

I am have a conversation about Respectability Politics on another post.

As we dismiss and denigrate the most ratchet among us.

white supremacy and privilege GIVE us our rights and ACKNOWLEDGE our humanity.

That was the twist and spin white supremacy and privilege put on a movement that said our rights humanity and citizenship were inalienable.

White Supremacy and privilege said we had to act and look a particular way in order to be treated as human and equal.

Wake the fuck up and stay woke. black power salute

some questions, the answers to which will lead to the solution include;
what is the historical context of the problem? IMG_1559
