Citizenship 101

I am struck this morning my my rights and duties as a citizen.
I have a right and duty to be educated. On the issues. On history. The long and short term impact.
To not be lazy. To exercise my citizenship all the time.
To not be fearful. To understand my rights are mine to execute in the face of adversity.
To vote. At every single opportunity. With the ballot with my dollar.

With what I choose to give my time energy or attention.
To protest.

I have the right and duty to protest injustice and inequality.
