Part of oppression is to make it the job of the oppressed to redeem the oppressor by being that special black or woman or gay or whoever that exhibits such divine humanity that the oppressor is enlightened and forever better. 

The problem is the impossible standard the oppressed is expected to achieve while being oppressed in order to earn salvation for the oppressor.

and that it excuses oppression. “I would have shopped being oppressive but you didn’t show me that I needed to be better”
